Serial entrepreneur Dr. Julia Zimmermann is a world- renowned-expert in the development of the cold plasma devices. Together with her father, Prof. Dr. Gregor Morfill, she co-founded the Max Planck spin-offs terraplasma and terraplasma medical and developed the first mobile medical cold plasma device for the treatment of wounds and skin diseases. Driven by a clear mission, Julia aims to make cold plasma technology accessible to more people, delivering healthier skin through groundbreaking science.
BORN IN SPACE
The result of extensive collaboration between Max Planck, ESA, DLR, NASA and Roscosmos, this technology originated from groundbreaking experiments onboard the ISS beginning in 2001. These studies explored complex plasmas under microgravity, leading to the creation of miniaturized, stable cold plasma sources, which have become standard treatment for medical applications like healing chronic wounds and various skin diseases.
